What should I wear for my family photoshoot?
At your pre-session consultation, we'll help you choose outfits for the entire family to ensure a cohesive and beautiful look. In general, we recommend coordinating colors, a similar level of formality for all members of the family, and minimal patterns. But don't stress, we will give you specific guidance to make sure your outfits fit your family perfectly!
How long are your family photoshoots?
Family photoshoots usually last about one hour. We love using the last hour before sunset for family photos to get that beautiful golden light. If you have young children, we'll make sure to get the important photos out of the way right at the beginning. Our sessions are fun and interactive, and the time will fly by without your kids (or your husband!) even noticing.
When is the best time of year to do a family photoshoot in WI?
We love doing family photoshoots year-round! If you would like an outdoor backdrop for your family photos, we generally recommend mid-May through late October. Springtime blooms can be gorgeous and bright, while fall colors are always popular. We also offer studio family photoshoots that create a clean look to focus on your family.
Where is the best location for family photos in Lake Country?
There are so many gorgeous locations in Lake Country for family photos. For woods and prairie we love Retzer Nature Center and Nature Hill, and for beach we love Ottawa Lake. If you're located closer to Milwaukee, there are many awesome locations there, including Doctor's Park, the historic Third Ward, and more. We'll choose a location for your photoshoot that gives you exactly what you're looking for in your final images.
How does a family photoshoot work?
There are three steps in our process to get you your gorgeous images. Step 1 - custom planning at your in-home consultation, where we'll choose outfits and finalize the vision for your photoshoot. Step 2 - your personalized photoshoot, including professional hair and makeup and a relaxed, fun portrait session. Step 3 - image reveal and selection, where you'll choose your final collection of images and we'll help you figure out how you want to display them.
